Terms of use

Who we are and these terms

RushGo is run by RushGo Technologies, Sector 62, Noida, Uttar Pradesh 201309, India ("RushGo", "we", "us").

These terms are an agreement between you and RushGo for the RushGo app and website (together, "the service"). By creating an account or using the service, you accept these terms. If you don't accept them, please don't use RushGo.

What RushGo is

RushGo is an online platform that helps people who are already making a journey (ride givers) share it with people heading the same way (passengers), and share its cost.

  • RushGo does not provide transport. We don't own or operate vehicles, and ride givers are not our employees, agents or contractors.
  • Each ride is an arrangement between the ride giver and their passengers. We provide the technology to find each other, commit, chat and pay.
  • RushGo acts as an intermediary under the Information Technology Act, 2000.

Your account

  • You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract.
  • You sign in with an Indian mobile number that you own. Keep your phone secure and never share your sign-in code with anyone, including people claiming to be from RushGo.
  • Use your real name and keep your details accurate. You can have one account.
  • You're responsible for what happens in your account. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has access to it.

Ride givers

When you publish a ride, you confirm that:

  • you hold a valid driving licence for the vehicle;
  • the vehicle is registered, insured as the law requires (at least third-party cover), has a valid pollution under control (PUC) certificate and is roadworthy;
  • you're making the journey anyway, and the route, times, vehicle and registration number you publish are accurate;
  • your price per seat is a fair share of the journey's running costs, such as fuel and tolls. RushGo is for sharing costs, not for running a taxi or any other commercial transport service, and you must not publish rides that would need a commercial permit;
  • you'll drive safely, follow traffic laws and never drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs;
  • on a Bike Pool ride, you'll carry one passenger, and you'll both wear helmets;
  • if you can't make the ride, you'll cancel it in the app as early as possible.

Passengers

When you book a seat, you agree to:

  • book only the seats you need, for people travelling with you;
  • be at the pickup point on time, and wear a seat belt, or a helmet on a bike;
  • respect the ride giver, other passengers and the vehicle;
  • pay the rest of your fare in the app once the ride giver starts the ride;
  • cancel in the app as early as possible if your plans change.

The ₹10 commitment, fares and your wallet

  • To make rides dependable, both sides commit ₹10: the ride giver when publishing a ride, and each passenger when booking. The ₹10 is held from your RushGo wallet.
  • A passenger's ₹10 counts towards their fare. The rest of the fare is paid from the wallet once the ride giver starts the ride, and the ride giver receives the full fare in their wallet. The ride giver's own ₹10 comes back when the ride is completed.
  • You add money to your wallet with UPI, a card or netbanking through our payment partner, Razorpay. We never see or store your card details or UPI PIN.
  • Your wallet balance can only be used on RushGo. It doesn't earn interest and isn't a bank account. You can ask us to return your unused balance at any time, as our Cancellation & refund policy explains.
  • There's no booking fee. Our Pricing page lists everything that costs money, and we'll tell you before we introduce any fee.
  • You're responsible for any taxes that apply to you.

Cancellations and refunds

When a ₹10 commitment is refunded or forfeited, how fares are handled and how to ask for a refund are set out in our Cancellation & refund policy, which is part of these terms.

Chat and behaviour

Use RushGo chat to arrange your ride, and treat everyone with respect. You must not:

  • harass, threaten, discriminate against or abuse anyone, or send sexual or offensive content;
  • publish fake rides or bookings, pretend to be someone else, or create more than one account;
  • ask for or make payments outside RushGo for a ride arranged on RushGo;
  • carry anything illegal or dangerous, or use a ride for anything unlawful;
  • ask for or share sign-in codes, UPI PINs, card details or passwords;
  • copy, scrape, disrupt or try to break the service, or use it to send spam.

Ratings and verification

  • Ratings reflect other members' experiences. Don't try to manipulate them.
  • A Verified badge means we checked the details described in the app at that time. It isn't a guarantee of anyone's identity, character or driving.

Safety

  • You decide whom you travel with. Check the vehicle and its registration number before you get in, meet at well-known public places and share your trip with someone you trust.
  • RushGo doesn't provide emergency services or live tracking. In an emergency in India, call 112.
  • Report anything unsafe or inappropriate to us at hello@rushgo.example. We may share information with the police when the law requires it or to protect someone's safety.

Suspending or closing accounts

  • We may warn you, limit features, or suspend or close your account if you break these terms, put others at risk or misuse payments, or if the law requires it. Where we can, we'll tell you why and how to respond.
  • You can delete your account in the app at any time. See Delete your account.

Our app and content

  • The RushGo name, logo, app and website belong to us. We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app for what it's meant for.
  • You own what you post, such as ride details and messages, and you allow us to use it to run the service.

Liability

  • We work hard to keep RushGo running, but the service is provided "as is". We can't promise that a ride will be available, that members will behave as they should, or that the service will never be interrupted.
  • Ride givers and passengers are responsible for their own conduct, vehicles and journeys. As far as the law allows, RushGo isn't liable for what happens during a ride, or for indirect or consequential loss.
  • As far as the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid to RushGo, not counting fares passed on to ride givers, in the 12 months before the claim.
  • Nothing in these terms limits a liability that the law doesn't allow us to limit.
  • If you break these terms or the law, you'll cover the losses that RushGo suffers as a result.

Changes to RushGo and these terms

We may update RushGo and these terms. If a change is significant, we'll tell you in the app or by SMS before it takes effect. If you keep using RushGo after that, you accept the updated terms.

Law, disputes and grievances

  • These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at Gautam Buddh Nagar, Uttar Pradesh, have exclusive jurisdiction.
  • Please contact us first: most problems can be sorted out quickly.
  • Under the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, you can also write to our Grievance Officer. We acknowledge complaints within 24 hours and aim to resolve them within 15 days.
